Exploring degrees of ”wrongness”; the sliding scale between right and wrong - reflecting the social/political relationship to difference or the other – disability, sexual orientation, gender, race, belief system. Based on works by Joel-Peter Witkin in our explorations we have initiated thinking around “normal” and its counterweight “unnormal”.
The design looks at the naturalistic or “real” space and how it is constructed, deconstructed and fragmented when placed inside a theatrical space. A continuation of Leonardo Da Vinci’s Vitruvian Man and Le Corbusier’s The Modulor, the design works with Dan Daw as the principal source of the measurements. In experiencing the scale of proportions we are invited to study our notions of expectation and what we expect to be the result of all that we do.
